Julien Debussche


Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Privacy & Data Protection and Intellectual Property Senior Associate, Bird & Bird Brussels

Julien is a senior associate in the Bird & Bird Brussels office specialising in Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Privacy & Data Protection and Intellectual Property.
He regularly undertakes both advisory work and litigation practices in a wide range of legal areas including privacy and data protection, copyright, e-commerce, e-marketing and IT contracts. Julien assists clients with information and technology related-matters such as cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things, 3D printing, cookies, electronic signatures, intermediary liability and online gaming.
Moreover, Julien managed the legal aspects of the CoCo cloud EU-funded research and innovation project on cloud computing until end-2016 and currently manages the entire legal compliance of the 6M€ Toreador EU-funded research and innovation project on big data.
Julien writes and speaks widely around various IP and TMT subjects.

Andrea Bertolini


Law Professor, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa

Andrea Bertolini is an assistant professor of private law at the Dirpolis Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa (SSSA) and adjunct professor in private law at the University of Pisa Department of Economics and Business. His research heavily rests on a comparative and law and economics approach. Since 2015, he is the coordinator of a project aimed at developing new liability models for advanced bionic limbs and exoskeletons (‘RELIABLE’), financed by the Italian Ministry of Research, and of a Jean Monnet Module entitled ‘Europe Regulates Robotics’, offering a wide range of graduate and Ph.D courses in law and robotics. Dr Bertolini holds undergraduate degrees in law from SSSA and the University of Pisa, a Ph.D in private law from SSSA, as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Yale Law School. Dr. Bertolini is an attorney licensed to practice in Italy and New York.

Miguel Sousa Ferro


Law Professor, University of Lisbon Law School and European University in Lisbon

Miguel Sousa Ferro is a Professor at the University of Lisbon Law School and at the European University in Lisbon, where he lectures in the fields of Competition Law, EU Law, Economic Law and Introduction to Economics. He is a practicing lawyer with extensive experience in competition litigation. He is co-Director of the Portuguese Competition & Regulation Journal. He has over 80 papers published in legal journals and 5 monographs, including the recently published “The EU Antitrust Damages Directive: Transposition in the Member States” (Oxford University Press), and the soon to be published “Market Definition in EU Competition Law” (Edward Elgar).

Bogdan Manolea


Bogdan Manolea is the Executive Director of Association for Technology and Internet – ApTI Romania. Mr. Manolea has a legal background and a vast experience in the Law and IT&C. Author of over 150 presentations and articles on subject related to IT&C Law (e-commerce, privacy issues, domain names, Internet jurisdiction or e-government etc.) in national and international conferences. Owner of the only Romanian web page dedicated to the IT Law – Internet Laws – www.legi-internet.ro
